2018 Convention Hands-On Seminars:

All hands-on seminars are limited to 10 members.  Each seminar is $100 per day unless listed.  The first 10 paid will be in the seminar.  You can now pay by Visa or Master Card.  Others interested will be put on a waiting/cancelation list.

ALL DAY PHEASANT MOUNTING HANDS-ON SEMINAR

All day Thursday – starting at 8am

This class will be mounting a pheasant in the standing position.

Included in the cost for the seminar are the following supplies: pheasant (fleshed and ready to mount), artificial head, acrylic eyes, feet (previously injected with plastic and painted), forms and neck material and base.

Students are responsible for bringing the following supplies: Drill, hair dryer, caulk gun, pliers, hot glue gun and glue, towel, water spray bottle, tweezers, blush brush and any other special tools you would like to use.


MOUNTING A FOX SHOULDER PEDESTAL HANDS-ON SEMINAR

This workshop will combine reference study and mounting techniques. It will include elements from two of Billy’s classes, “Work Smarter not Harder” and “Things Concerning Mammals”. From these he will discuss eyes, ears, nose, symmetry and though they are not part of this mount…feet. All that is discussed will help you with both your customer and competition efforts.

This is an all-day workshop and will be conducted in two segments. The morning segment will be skin and manikin preparation including reference study. The evening segment will be mounting the Fox shoulder pedestal and attaching it to the base. There will be a vast amount of information covered in each segment that can be applied to your mammal taxidermy efforts of any species. Be prepared to take notes. This workshop is limited to 10 students at a cost of $150.

What is provided: Manikin, Cape, Base, Eyes, Earliners and Glue.
What you need to bring: All tools you normally use to mount a Fox.
Completed mounts will be the students to take home.

ICE & SNOW HABITAT SCENE

Friday – March 16, 2017 – 8 am – 2 pm
Up to 10 participants.

Jayson will be teaching participants to create a habitat scene of Ice and Snow with underwater rocks that you will be painting. All materials are provided in the cost.
